SWINTON SWEEP WINNER DONATES £100 TO DOGS IN NEED
Swinton Sweep Winner Sharon Willis got into the Christmas spirit of giving last weekend by spending her £100 prize money on supplies for a local animal shelter.
Swinton Square has been hosting a flurry of festive activity every Saturday over the month of December, with the chance to see Christmas Carols, the Snowflake Sisters Frozen Show and Santa. However, the main event of every week has without a doubt been the ‘Swinton Sweep’, where Salford locals are asked to tell The Square why they deserve to win £100 to spend on The Square by posting online or in the post-box located in the Management Office.
The prize money comes with one catch – they have to spend it all within 30 minutes.
Sharon Willis was selected as the winner for last weekend, where she headed straight for tinned dog food, blankets and treats to donate to a cause close to her heart, Leigh Dogs and Cats Home. Sharon donates to the shelter every year and was over the moon that she got to donate double the amount of items with her husband this year.
Dawn Corfield, Customer Services Relations Manager at Swindon Square commented,
“It was really heart-warming to see Sharon donate her winnings to a local cause. We have no doubt that the volunteers at Leigh Dogs & Cats Home will be forever grateful for all of the supplies she was able to donate. Our first Swinton Sweep winner also donated some of her prize to Key 103’s Toy Appeal so here’s hoping that our last winner will also think about donating too!”
There is one final chance to be in for the chance to win the Swinton Sweep on the 23rd December, along with a host of other Christmas activity on The Square.
The timetable for events on the 23rd December is the following;
10.30am – Carols with accompaniment
12noon – Snowflake Sisters Frozen Show
2.00pm –Santa Visit with FREE sweet giveaways
