Swinton Square is delighted to announce our continued partnership with Kidscan as our charity partner of the year.
Local charity Kidscan will continue with our charity partnership with Swinton Square and together we will raise vital funds for the charity throughout the year. Projects you can look out for include no contact donation station located on the window at the Management Office at the centre, sponsored activities with our centre management team, retailers and visitors and a calendar of fun events and entertainment for all. Kidscan will also be able to use the centre for promotional purposes and increase its profile in the community.
Kidscan is a children’s cancer research charity based in Salford. In the UK, over 20% of children who are diagnosed with cancer will not survive because treatment options are limited. Of those who do survive, 60% end up with life long, limiting side effects. Kidscan invest in finding new targeted therapies specifically for children, that attack only cancerous cells.
Swinton Square’s centre management team commented: “We are really excited to continue our partnership with Kidscan and see this project come to life and to support such a good, local cause. It’s a great opportunity for us to focus on raising significant funds to help poorly children throughout the region and beyond. I am sure that we will have a really successful year, we know that everyone at the centre and our visitors will back the partnership and make Kidscan feel welcome.”
Alison England, Kidscan’s Community Fundraising Manager added: “The whole team at Kidscan are delighted to be working in partnership with Swinton Square Shopping Centre again. We want to continue engaging with local people and businesses to raise awareness of our charity and share information of the vital research we fund and manage. Many people aren’t aware of the side effects that many children suffer from, after receiving chemotherapy and we want to ensure that every child who suffers from cancer will not only survive but also thrive.”
Please get in touch with us if you can offer your support or have ideas to improve the success of our charity efforts
